Description:
Georgs Peretzis was born in Riga, Latvia in 1947. After graduating from Emils Dalsinsh Music High School, he studied composition at the Moscow State Conservatory with Aram Khachaturian. He first came to prominence with his successful debut at London's Royal Albert Hall with music for Roald Dahl's "Jack and the Beanstalk. Perezis' "creative universe" has been described as vast and unfathomably deep, and his music, with its "pleasing tone to the ear," has been called "new simplicity" and "music of new harmonies. This piano collection, entitled "The Four Seasons," consists of six pieces written more than 40 years apart, from "New Year's Music" in 1977 to "New Year Again" in 2018. Perezis' music certainly speaks to me and brings something special and inspiring. It makes me feel very happy," says Latvian pianist Linda Reine. She has studied with Ilse Treja and Arnis Zandmanis in Latvia and with Lija Zilbershtein and Burkhard Kehring in Hamburg, where she is a soloist and chamber musician. Tokyo M-Plus
