Eva-Maria Mai is a Munich-based pianist who made her debut at the age of 14 and specializes in Russian music and Chopin. This is her third "Poulenc Album" for the label. Since she has already recorded a violin sonata, a flute sonata, the complete improvisations, and "The Tale of the Little Elephant Babar," this album features all of her pieces as "Poulenc sonatas from the piano player's point of view. Her Poulenc, which she plays lightly with a variety of collaborators, has a unique style that is both Ravel-esque and Mozart-esque.
