New release of Sassicaia's second wine, Guidalberto, a phenomenal buy from Italy. Limited.

From Tenuta San Guido, makers of the iconic Sassicaia, comes a wine made for less serious occasions, but maintains the high class of winemaking. Aged in a mix of French and American oak for 15 months.  This is the wine to enjoy while its big brother, Sassicaia, spends another few years in time-out. Straight from the barrel, Vinous was already calling it “positively stellar” and Wine Enthusiast has since marked it as “racy and delicious.” 60% Cabernet Sauvignon with 40% Merlot, this delicate blend is driven by freshness and pops with intense red fruit flavor and ripe, silky tannins.

95 Points Wine Enthusiast: "This enticing red offers alluring aromas of fragrant purple flowers, dark-skinned berries and crushed mint. The elegantly structured palate doles out succulent blackberry, orange zest, licorice and saline notes set against taut, refined tannins. It's nicely balanced by fresh acidity. Drink 2022–2029."

94 Points Wine Spectator: "This red is elegant, despite its firm structure and dense tannins. Black cherry, black currant, plum, tobacco, iron and rosemary flavors hold court, while all the components show balance. The finish is long, with a salty taste. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
