Yayoi Toda, one of Japan's leading violinists since winning the 1993 Queen Elisabeth International Competition, has re-recorded "J.S. Bach: Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin" for the first time in 20 years. This Bach performance is the quintessence of Yayoi Toda, who captivates listeners with her overwhelmingly high concentration and passion-filled playing. Toda plays the famous instrument "Guarneri del Gesu" (made in 1728), which was used when Bach composed this piece. Using this instrument, Toda expresses everything from a sweet, beautiful, delicate tone to an outpouring of energy as if blood were flowing.
