Description:
Anton Eberle was born in Vienna in 1765. He was a friend of Mozart and admired by Haydn and Gluck. This collection of keyboard works includes works previously considered to be by Mozart. He also performed with Constanze Mozart and was a Kapellmeister to the Russian royal family, but died at the age of 41 due to illness. The Grand Sonata begins with a grand introduction and develops into a highly colorful Allegro, perhaps with a bold and dramatic keyboard work in mind. This album not only allows one to fully appreciate Eberl's talent, but also to experience the intriguing sensation of what melody will appear next. Tokyo-born Sayuri Nagoya, who studied piano and harpsichord at the Conservatoire in Brussels, focuses on works composed at the intersection of the two instruments at the end of the 19th century. For this recording, he uses a Broadman fortepiano from 1805.
