Celebrate! Haitink Turns 90 LSO Celebrates with 2015 Beethoven Masterpiece with Piris Master Haitink, born in 1929, will turn 90 this March. To celebrate, the London Symphony Orchestra is releasing his most famous performance with Piris in 2013. The program is Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 2. This recording was already available on CD, but now it appears on disc for the first time. The performance was praised by a reviewer at the time as "the highest possible standard of performance" and "Piris's playing is direct and confident, enhanced by Haitink's conducting. The coupling Triple Concerto was recorded in 2005 and is the same performance included in the complete Beethoven cycle. King International
