The second trimester starts announcing the end of the “Structural Phase” and the beginning of the “Functional Phase”. A rapid growth of the baby from few centimeters to full size baby continues in the home stretch of the pregnancy, the third trimester.

Big changes inside the body of the woman. These changes pose many challenges and being able to overcome them is key for woman to deliver a healthy baby. One the other side, the development of the baby undergoes critical changes to obtain a fully functional status, even if major defects were avoided previously.

What remains evident is that the wellbeing of the baby is directly related to the wellbeing of the mother.
