Latin Name: Baptisia 'Cherries Jubilee'

Description: This upright, densely branched perennial which displays exquisite sturdy spikes of double-lipped, pea-shaped cinnamon and gold coloured blossoms which bloom prolifically from the late spring into the early summer period. The blooms open from chocolate buds, and literally cover the plant. the blooms appear over whorled, rounded to oval shaped, blue-green foliage. Once blooming has completed for the season, the flowers give way to very interesting, peanut shaped, dark brown/black seed pods, which remain into the winter, creating all-season interest. Creates a lovely backdrop for late-blooming perennials. Spreads by underground rhizomes.

Fertilize with all-purpose fertilizer in the early spring. Trimming back foliage after the bloom period can help to maintain a neat habit.
