We've been fans of Q36.5's women's bib shorts for several years. With the release of the updated Dottore Bib Short Pro, the Italian brand has created what promises to be one of the fastest and most comfortable female road cycling bib shorts this side of Milan.

Previous iterations of the Dottore featured a compressive fit. With the Pro, Q36.5 has increased the amount of muscle support on offer, thanks in part to a new proprietary high-density woven fabric that also features silver thread woven into the weft of the material. In practice, the extra compression translates to even greater comfort for demanding endurance training or similarly high-energy efforts - think sprints or fierce climbs.

The general cut of the bib has also been tweaked. The women's specific tailoring of the Dottore Pro Bibs now further reduces pressure on the abdominal and genital areas. Additionally, the rear lumbar support is more obvious, which should make a noticeable difference on the longer rides of the season.

What makes bib shorts bibs, of course, is the chamois, and the Dottore Pro has a good one. The new pad (confusingly, there are many names for the chamois) benefits from Q36.5's C-Interface and Q LAB Air technology. Chamois tech is notoriously obscure, but the big update to the women's Dottore bibs is how well the pad integrates with the pattern of the bib shorts, reducing the potential for chafing over long distances. In terms of support, the Dottore's chamois boasts a super high-density open cell foam, ensuring cushioned protection from road vibrations.
