Calico Bristlenose Pleco (Ancistrus sp.)

Typically peaceful, with the exception of sparring with their own kind if they don’t have enough space to establish individual territories and have each their own cave area, Bristlenose Plecos are an excellent addition to a community tank. If they're provided with some caves to hide, your pleco(s) will be comfortable and take care of some algae growth on the glass for you when you're not looking. Once mature males can become territorial and fight with each other, so keeping males together is only recommended in a tank with multiples spaces and many caves for establishing territories.
