Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online (GGO)" (published by Dengeki Bunko) is the sequel to "Sword Art Online (SAO)" (published by Dengeki Bunko), written by Reki Kawahara. The world depicted in this work is the same VRMMO "Gun Gale Online" that Kirito and Shinon encountered in "Sword Art Online II," the second season of the "SAO" TV anime. However, the characters and storyline were written by author Keiichi Shigurezawa, known for his work on "Kino's Journey the Beautiful World" (published by the same publisher). The main attractions of "GGO" are the depiction of firearms, which is typical of Shigurezawa, a gun and military enthusiast, and tense and realistic battle scenes. The character designs are by illustrator Kohaku Kuroboshi, who also worked with Shigurezawa on "Kino's Journey" and has designed characters for a variety of anime works. Studio 3Hz, which produced the popular "GGO", will be in charge of animation production.The much-talked-about Shared World Entertainment, a new extension to the world of "SAO," is now airing as a TV anime!
