White roses on black velvet — there are few pairings in fashion as enduring, or as quietly dramatic. The Noir Rose makes that contrast its whole language.

The gown is cut from deep black silk velvet, a fabric chosen for its weight, its softness and the way its pile turns ordinary light into something richer.

Down the front, a spray of full-bloom roses is embroidered entirely by hand. The blooms are worked in ivory and soft cream, petal over petal, set among sage-and-gold foliage and lifted with small coral-red buds. The arrangement climbs the body like a single cut stem laid against the velvet.

The silhouette is elegant and assured — a slip gown with fine straps and a softly curved neckline, gently fitted through the body to a full maxi length. A matching black velvet wrap, styled here across the shoulders, completes the look for cooler rooms and evening air.

Styling. Pearl drop earrings and a pearl necklace, as styled here, sit beautifully against the neckline. The look is complete with bare shoulders, or with a velvet wrap or stole drawn around the arms. Keep shoes simple and tonal.

Craftsmanship. Each Velvet Atelier gown is hand-embroidered in Vietnam by heritage artisan makers. The rose spray is built petal by petal in fine thread, a process of many patient hours, and every gown is produced in a very limited run — subtly unique, never identical.
