Lou Barlow, a legendary songwriter of lo-fi and US indie who has released numerous masterpieces as Sebadoh, Dinosaur Jr., Folk Implosion, and solo, returns to his roots and is back in his element with his first solo album in six years, summing up his recent substantial activities. Both on their most recent studio albums and in Japan, US indie/alternative legends Sebadoh & Dinosaur Jr. have shown themselves to be at their best since their reunion in the mid-2000s. Lou Barlow, who has also been actively pursuing his solo career in between the two groups' schedules, has shown for the first time in his long career that he is in the midst of a period of fulfillment. Space," co-produced by Kurt Weill and released on April 23, Lou Barlow's first full-length solo album in six years, "Reason To Live," is now available. The album was initiated by Artist Enabler, a paid listening platform launched by the U.S. Joyful Noise label in 2019. The service allows members to listen to new and rare songs exclusively digitally on a monthly basis, and physical members receive a cassette or vinyl record every three months. Unlike his previous solo albums, the production style of recording a series of new songs in a short span of time is fresh and exciting (some songs were recorded in hotels during the Dinosaur Jr. tour), and it is a perfect reflection of his fulfilling and balanced life both publicly and privately since his return to his home state of Massachusetts from LA, where he resided for a long time in 2014.
