The WAEVE is the project of Graham Coxon (songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist for Blur) and Rose Ellinor Dougal (Mark Ronson collaborator and founder of The Pipettes). The debut album, co-produced by The WAEVE and James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Foals, HAIM), is now available. Produced and recorded in London in early 2022, The WAEVE album features 10 new songs by songwriters Graham Coxon and Rose Elinor Dougall. By combining their creative forces as The WAEVE the two have been able to push beyond their instrumental comfort zones. Many of the songs feature saxophone, one of the first instruments Graham played in the 80s.The first single, "Can I Call You," begins as a ballad before morphing into a krautrock-style motoric number with Graham's guitar solo. The WAEVE recalls the raucous folk-rock of Sandy Denny and John & Beverly Martyn, with "Kill Me Again" and "All Along" featuring Graham on cittern (medieval folk lute) and Rose on piano and ARP2000 modular synths. The WAEVE (pronounced "wave") is the new project of Graham Coxon and Rose Elinor Dougall. Graham Coxon is one of the guitar heroes of his generation and is widely known for his nine solo albums released since 1998 as well as his work on acclaimed soundtracks, along with his significant contributions to Blur.In addition, her autobiography, Verse, Chorus, Monster! will be published this fall by Faber and Faber.Rose Elinor Dougall is a singer-songwriter from London who has released three She has released three solo albums to date, including the new A New Illusion (2019). She is also known for her work with Mark Ronson and Baxter Dury, among others.
