If you're looking to add trailer wiring and/or rear bar light wiring to your 80 Series Landcruiser, or simply want to clean up a bad install, then look no further than the Trail Teq Plug-and-Play Trailer / Rear Bar Lights Wiring Harness.

This harness is designed to plug directly into the OEM underbody loom located at the rear crossmember. See the compatibility tab to confirm fitment. 

Featuring waterproof Deutsch connectors, and thick double insulated fire retardant and chemical/mechanical resistant sheathing with marine grade dual wall heatshrink, our trailer harness and rear bar harness is overengineered to last in the harshest conditions. 

Compatibility

The trailer wiring breakout connectors are located near your rear crossmember.

There are two different types of trailer wiring connectors on the 80 Series Depending on the car's market. 

MOST Markets (Except Europe): 3 Pin Connector + 2 Pin Connectors 

MOST European Delivered Cars: 6 Pin Connector + 2 Pin Connector

If you are from the UK or other areas of Europe, please check your rear crossmember harness prior to purchase to determine if you have a 3 Pin or 6 Pin trailer wiring connector. Send us an email if you are unsure of where to look.  

Wiring Provisions

The main harness has 7 wire provisions:

1. Park Light (Tail Light / Number Plate)
2. Stop Light
3. Reverse Light
4. RH Turn Signal
5. LH Turn Signal
6. Ground
7. Service (Electric Brakes) / Aux Power

The rear bar light harness uses Deutsch connectors and is supplied with pigtails for you to hook up to your lights. The rear bar light harness includes includes:

• 1 meter for the Right Hand Combination Light (6 Pin Deutsch)
• 1 meter for the Left Hand Combination Light (6 Pin Deutsch)
• 1 meter for the Number Plate Light (2 Pin Deutsch)

Both rear combination lights include provisions for Park Light, Stop Light, Reverse Light, Turn Signal and Ground. Pigtails are supplied for you to hookup to your existing lights. 

Harness Options

All of our harnesses come standard with a waterproof Deutsch connection at the plug end for ease of service, installation and removal. There are several options available depending on your location and needs:

• Standard 7 Wire Bare Harness with Pigtail (Wire to your own trailer plug)
• Standard + Add on a Prewired 7 Pin Australian Spec Plug (Round or Flat)
• Standard + Add on a Prewired 4 Pin Flat American Spec Plug (with Converter Box)

There is also the option to add a Rear Bar combination taillight T-harness onto the standard main trailer harness. This can be used by itself if you only have rear bar lights to wire up, or can be used in combination with a trailer plug as well. 

The rear bar harness will allow you to hook up a pair of combination taillights (tail, stop, indicator, reverse) as well as a number plate light, in addition to having a functioning trailer plug. Everything is included and is plug-and-play, you will just need to connect your lights to the harness pigtails. 

The rear bar harness features waterproof deutsch connection pigtails with 1 meter of wiring for each tail light side, and 1 meter of wiring for the number plate light. 

If you have selected Number Plate Light Harness Only, then your harness plugs into the 3 or 6 pin trailer breakout plug, and has a 2-pin Deutsch connector pigtail on the other end for you to hookup to your light.

Disclaimer

Each wiring circuit on this harness is rated at the standard 10amps, allowing safe hookup of both traditional Halogen or modern LED globes. 

If you install LED tail/stop/turn signals onto your trailer or rear bar, you may also need to add your own load resistors otherwise the turn signals will blink too fast. This depends on the specific tail lights you use, so make sure to consult their own specific data.
