In the beginning, we were making melodies with our own vocals on songs we liked. Our first apartment when we lived in the East Village was above a bar, right above a DJ booth. It may sound silly, but to tell you the truth, I started making melodies over the bass of the songs coming from the floor below the bar. From there, we layered on the vocals and the song grew." As they themselves say, the album was created in such a way as to take advantage of the environment in which they find themselves.The floating pop sound that can be heard throughout the entire album will surely touch the heartstrings of early Grimes and Lush lovers.
