A sculptural and highly refined pair of armchairs by Giuseppe Scapinelli, executed in richly grained Brazilian caviúna during the 1950s. The frames embody Scapinelli’s unmistakable language: sharply articulated arms, faceted transitions, and tapering legs that create a dynamic yet architectural stance. The slightly reclined back and deep seat cushion provide generous comfort while preserving the disciplined geometry of mid-century Brazilian design.

Recently reupholstered in burnt caramel short-pile mohair velvet, the fabric introduces warmth and depth without overpowering the wood. The subtle sheen of the mohair enhances the curvature of the cushions and captures light beautifully against the dark seamless backdrop, while remaining period-appropriate and refined. The saturated cognac tone echoes the natural undertones of the caviúna, creating a harmonious dialogue between textile and timber.
