This fun guy doesn't have wings but he does remind me quite a lot of the winged monkeys from Oz, though I can't look at a gold-painted monkey without thinking of Jeff Koons' Michael and Bubbles, too. The gold on this one is much mellower though, imparting him with a bit of a tramp art feel (which the green felt glued to the underside rather amplifies!) Hand-sculpted of white clay and, to my sensibilities at least, really great!

5 3/8" t x 5" w x 4 1/4" d.  Good condition, no chips or cracks that I can see, I'd guess 1970s or 80s but am not completely certain.
