The Exorcist III is a supernatural horror thriller written and directed by William Peter Blatty, adapted from his novel Legion. Set years after the events of the original The Exorcist, the film follows Lieutenant Kinderman, played by George C. Scott, as he investigates a series of ritualistic murders bearing the signature of the long-dead Gemini Killer. As the crimes intensify, Kinderman discovers a terrifying connection between the murders, a psychiatric hospital and a mysterious patient played by Brad Dourif. Combining police procedural suspense with theological dread and disturbing psychological horror, the film builds towards a chilling and deeply unsettling climax. Initially overlooked on release, it is now regarded as one of the strongest sequels in horror cinema and a major cult favourite.
