One of the finest Classical mouthpieces available

All the ingredients for a perfect classical sound – warm, centred, highly responsive and with great projection.  The 3.0 version includes some enhancements that make it perform to an even greater standard.  We must appreciate the history of this classic mouthpiece as it came about following an interaction in 1961 between two great figures in the sax world, Dr Rousseau and Marcel Mule.  Rousseau was inspired by the mouthpiece that Mule gave him and decided to try and design his own.  By 1972 the mission was complete and the R series was born!  It is now a highly sought-after mouthpiece, played by many top-level players the World over.

ROUSSEAU’S LEGACY

Other than being one of the most influential figures in the world of teaching through much of the twentieth century, Dr Eugene Rousseau dedicated much of his career to establishing a line of mouthpieces for both classical and jazz musicians alike.  To continue the legacy of the great man, Jody Espina of JodyJazz fame collaborated with him in the last few years of his life and agreed to re-vitalise the range and bring the mouthpieces up to the highest possible modern standards.  While 2.0 versions represented making small adjustments to the remaining stock from the original factory, the 3.0 versions now showcase a completely re-vamped mouthpiece, all finished in the JodyJazz factory to the same exacting standards as their own range of products.  Jody took CAT scans of the best examples of Rousseau mouthpieces and made tweaks to the design, such that ALL tip openings played perfectly.  The mouthpieces are made via CNC technology, and hand-finished to perfection, consistent with all the mouthpieces that come from Jody’s factory.

All the Rousseau 3.0 models feature a matte natural hard rubber finish with a deep, rich luster and new fully engraved logos with striking gold paint.
