Shopping security
Open crown hat from the 1940's. Set on a band of black velvet the front and sides are embellished with black, navy blue and red ovals much like grapes. The open crown is covered in a double layer of black netting. Interior is the standard petersham ribbon along with an elastic placement band.
Excellent condition.
Label is original by Ethel Atkins, 16 Arlington Street, Boston. Ethel Atkins was a well known Boston milliner from the 1930's, retiring in 1968. Her work is displayed in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
Inner circumference is 20 inches.
