RARE example of their minimalist/Mexican peasant style

Crafted from crisp white cotton and features a romantic, collarless, prairie silhouette with amazing, puffed, half-length sleeves with elastic cuffs. The bodice is accented with structured horizontal pintuck pleats and an empire waist that flows into a full skirt detailed with additional pintuck bands near the hem. The A line silhouette creates a simple, classic line, while giving off a strong cottagecore vibe! Unlined, it pulls on overhead.

The Barboglio sisters, Jan and Cristina, launched their apparel line in 1982, drawing deep inspiration from the "hacienda" lifestyle and traditional Mexican attire they experienced growing up on a cattle ranch in north-central Mexico. Their designs for Neiman Marcus became legendary for blending this rugged ranch aesthetic with high-end luxury, often styling feminine white cotton dresses like this one with unexpected elements like combat boots. The apparel line was discontinued in the late 90s.
