Description:
El Salvador, the last frontier in the southern part of Guatemala... The psychedelic syndrome that shook the world at the end of the 1960s reached this small Central American country, and as a result, numerous garage and psychedelic groups formed by teenagers The psychedelic syndrome has reached this small Central American country. Until now, little has been known about the amazing music scene that emerged during the 60s and 70s. Due to a lack of resources at the time, many musicians had to make their own fuzz pedals by hand, and in the very few recording studios, engineers were experimenting with primitive tape echo techniques to compensate for the lack of equipment and effects. As a result, the unique sound that exists in this compilation is 100% raw and wild, the best of any frontier compilation to date! In addition to incredibly fuzzed-out covers of The Doors, Blue Cheer, Country Joe & The Fish, Alan Bowne, and others, you will also hear some of their own original, strangely-tuned songs. All songs are excerpts from very rare singles previously little known outside of El Salvador! Includes color booklet with English/Spanish annotations and photos.Nena Cherry's classic 1989 hit album "Raw Like Sushi" is now available on a 30th anniversary remastered LP, featuring a groundbreaking blend of R&B, rap, pop and dance music throughout the album, which reached #1 on the U.S. dance charts. The 1989 album featured the hit singles "Buffalo Stance" and "Kisses On The Wind," produced by Massive Attack's Robert Del Naja, as well as "Manchild," "Heart," and "Inna City Mamma. The album features the street culture nurtured by New York hip-hop, Chicago house nightclub life, and avant-garde fashion from Japan, as well as the multi-ethnic solidarity/community spirit reflected in the lyrics depicting people's daily lives, as a counter-punch to the individualistic policies promoted by the Thatcher administration at the time. This work is a strong condensed counter-punch to the individualistic policies promoted by the Thatcher government at the time.It is a revolutionary work that exploded both commercially and creatively, creating British black music created by dance floor people for dance floor people on the eve of the Brit Pop boom that began in the 1990s.
